Ruminations on day 3

So, today I actually got down to business at the archive. The nice thing about it is that its only open from 9am to 2pm, which leaves plenty of time for afternoons as a tourist. So I wont bore you with the sob stories of older parents and widows who wrote letters begging the state to take care of their children...
Today, after leaving the archive, I ate another fantastic lunch at Cafe El Popular in the Centro Historico...pollo adobado (basically chicken marinated and cooked in abodo) with some fresh gucamole and beans. I then went in search of the Palacio de Bellas Artes. As you will be able to tell, it was definitely worth the 30 pesos I paid to take pictures of some very famous murals...the one I included is in four parts and it was painted by Diego Rivera.
I also went into the Catedral Metropolitana (the large church on the Zocalo, the main plaza in the city) and youll see a couple of pictures from there too. Tonight Im off to watch the US take on Costa Rica in World Cup qualifying. Enjoy the pictures above..
